Kennedy House, Washington D.C.

The next time you travel to D.C., press into Georgetown and visit the houses JFK lived in during his rise to presidency. This is one of his first townhomes.

Great Tip!

Wish you were fit to dress presidentially? Now you can be!

This dress from the Obama family holiday card is from Anthropologie! This apparel item is only available in stores, but the trip is at least worth a couple rounds in the dressing room day-dreaming about this dress!

We must never confuse elegance with snobbery.

Mixed Metals French Manicure DIY

With the holiday season in full swing, there are bound to be loads of parties to attend. This Mixed Metals French Manicure is a fun way to add a little sparkle to your look.

Step One: Start out with a base coat and two coats of a gold shimmer polish (I highly recommend Milani 3D Holographic in “3D”). Let this completely dry.

Step Two: Cut little strips of Scotch tape to fit across your nail. Apply them and press firmly to make sure they adhere.

Step Three: Apply a silver shimmer polish along the top of the tape (I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in “Celeb City”). You don’t have to be precise with this step as long as you stay above the tape!

Step Four: Try to remove the tape strips as quickly as possible after applying the silver polish so that removing it doesn’t peel away the silver tips.

Step Five: Apply a good topcoat! I always use the Pro-FX Quick Dry topcoat because otherwise I always find some way to smudge my freshly polished fingertips.

Wishing everyone a safe and magical holiday!

LOVING this collection of colors from China Glaze! The “capitol” they’re referring to is actually from The Hunger Games, but let’s pretend they’re talking about our own DC.

This polish collection is scheduled for a March 2012 release.

Never To Much Glitter has the best trick:

  • Use an eyeshadow brush to get a little pile of loose shadow
  • Add some clear polish and mix for a new fabulous shade
  • If you’re feeling extra daring, top it off with Essie’s ‘Matte About You’ to turn it into a matte look

So easy and such a great way to get a new and different manicure. Love!

must try!
